Jesik Consulting & Engineering supported the planning, design, and development of large-scale wood vault systems for Wood Cache PBC—an innovative carbon sequestration project in southern Colorado. The project focused on permanently storing woody biomass below grade to prevent decomposition and capture carbon long-term. Jesik provided geotechnical and civil engineering services including site evaluation, subsurface investigation, grading and drainage design, and engineered soil cap concepts tailored to site-specific conditions and regulatory requirements.
During design and construction, Jesik delivered permitting support, construction documentation, and field services to verify performance and compliance. This included materials testing, construction observation, and certification reporting to ensure proper excavation, wood placement, backfill, and cap installation. The project demonstrated Jesik’s ability to support nontraditional, infrastructure-scale environmental solutions—combining data-driven engineering, practical design, and field verification to deliver reliable, long-term results.
